Jessie J – Domino and Laserlight

British Pop star Jessie J has been a refreshing addition to the Pop landscape. Her song, Domino is a wonderful mix of Pop with a tiny touch of 60’s soul. There’s a lyric: “Every second is a highlight…” and Domino is just that. It’s the kind of song where you put down the windows in the car and start singing. And any song that features another lyric: “Dirty Dancing in the moonlight…” has gotta be good. 





She was also featured on The Graham Norton Show last month, where she sang Laserlight. The song starts out quiet with just a guitar lick, followed by a quiet vocal in the first verse. It’s the crescendo of the chorus that’s a standout. The bubbling bass line and the synth bits make the song incredibly exciting. And just as the viewer enjoys that, it’s back to the quiet guitar lick and the quiet verse. Jessie J does all that while jumping on a pair of huge baby-blue high heels. Brilliant. BSo
