Kylie Minogue: Timebomb

As you have seen, I’ve been enjoying Kylie’s new re-imagined material from The Abbey Road Sessions. However, back in May she released a single, Timebomb, which (thankfully) grew on me after a few listens. Now, it’s become one that I seek when I need an offset shot of dance-pop, Kylie-style.

Looking fit in a leather jacket, jean short-shorts and boot heels (and later, much less), Kylie steps off a video set for a swig of water, grabs her aviators and sets out for a strut on the cobblestone streets. “Fast, time is ticking oh so fast.” Looking to get into a little trouble, Kylie sneaks through alleyways, stealing cell phones, cutting through underground dance clubs, even hitching a ride (“Drive.”) in a Porsche and later on the back of a motorbike. For Kylie’s character, time—and letting loose—is of the essence. “It’s not the end of the world/It’s just the start of me and you.” BSo
