Joseph Gordon-Levitt singing and dancing as part of the opening monologue—this guy can do just about anything; the last 34 seconds (click below) of Dame Shirley Bassey’s divalicious performance of Goldfinger—just two of the great moments from this year’s Academy Awards telecast.
Yet the best moment happened backstage during a press interview. Let’s just say Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence has a fan. This fan interview-bombed the actress while she was talking to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos after her win for Silver Linings Playbook. Lawrence’s reaction is priceless. She takes the interruption in stride, especially when the (legendary) fan nervously says that she looks like one of his old girlfriends. The 22-year-old Lawrence responds with a sharp, quick-witted response that would’ve made Mae West proud. When all is said and done, the calm, cool, collected actress finally gasps an “Oh My God!” after the magnitude of this meeting sets in. BSo
