Holy Synth!: Capital Cities’ “Safe and Sound”

It’s been awhile since my last Holy Synth! post. This edition features the song, Safe and Sound from the Los Angeles-based indie pop duo, Capital Cities. I heard this 2011 song on KFOG this evening and I instantaneously loved its sunny synthesizer sound. In addition, the group incorporates a couple of trumpet riffs that fit surprisingly well into what is essentially a dance-pop song. The video, ironic to say the least, is quite experimental and downright nightmarish, even in its daytime footage, so you’re on your own. I will say this: Beware of dog… and llamas, contortionists and fish. BSo
