Sarah Palin, I Mean, Tina Fey on “Inside the Actors Studio”

On Tuesday, the Bravo network featured a new episode of Inside the Actors Studio. For a brief segment, the host, James Lipton—the man with the huge stack of blue note cards—interviewed the inspiring Tina Fey. Going through the cards, Lipton had notes on everything from Fey’s Greek heritage and upbringing in Pennsylvania, to her stint in Chicago with the Second City comedy troupe, the film, Mean Girls, and, of course, her supremely smart work on Saturday Night Live where she made history as the show’s first female head writer.

Natural, modest and quietly confident, Fey was a fantastic teacher to the class/audience. Lipton, at one point, politely asked Fey if she could channel her most hilarious real-life caricature, the former Alaska governor, Sarah Palin. Here, “Palin” speaks to Lipton about her current title, wolves, and best of all, her view on marriage, in particular, same-sex marriage. Just when you think Fey can’t be any funnier or any faster to the punch, she effortlessly pulls up her training as an improvisational actor and, you betcha, never stumbles. BSo
